The Salacious Players Club series was an EXPERIENCE. I read the books in a week. They’re bingeble, extra 🌶️🌶️, and mf good time. If you’re looking for a spicy series that you can read quickly, read the Salacious Players series by Sara Cate. Keep scrolling for my reviews of each book.
1. Praise
Rating: 4.5 ⭐️
Tropes:
- ex-bf’s dad
- praise k!nk
- age gap
- workplace romance
- spicy af
“RULE #6: AVOID MALLS FOR THE RISK OF RUNNING INTO YOUR EX WHILE HOLDING BAGS OF LINGERIE YOU FANTASIZE WEARING FOR HIS DAD.”
If you’re a spice lover who hasn’t read this series yet, you must read it asap! WOW. And not only was it spicy, but there was an element of forbidden love, too, with the MMC being the FMC’s ex-boyfriend’s DAD. After reading birthday girl, I knew that trope was a favorite, but this book took it to a whole new level.
I also loved that the book addressed serious topics. I was pleasantly surprised about some of the deep plot points. But it was still hot, hot, hot. 🥵
Now that I’ve thoroughly expressed how thirsty this book made me …. read it if it sounds like your jam.
2. Eyes on Me
Rating: 4.75 ⭐️
Tropes:
- step-siblings
- enemies with benefits
- mental health rep
- age gap
- voyeur x cam girl
“Call me cynical, but falling in love has to be the most delusional thing a person can do.”
I loved this book! It was taboo af, but that didn’t put me off. I loved the connection between the main characters-Mia and Garrett. It was interesting seeing their connection go from attraction, then denying their attraction, to something more. I also GREATLY appreciated that their relationship developed and started as adults. There wasn’t any grooming, which would have 150% put me off.
I loved seeing their two personalities mesh together. Mia and Garrett were pretty different from each other, but they balanced each other out well. There were some communication issues throughout the book (and a big one), but they added to the plot.
Finally, I loved the mental health rep in this book! I’m a salacious players Stan. 🤩
3. Give Me More
Rating: 4.75 ⭐️
Tropes:
- friends to lovers
- one bed
- triple pov
- MF, MFM, MM, MMF
- road trip
“If soul mate means a person whose heart mirrors mine, a twin flame, so compatible that one cannot fully exist without the other, then without a doubt, he is mine.”
This book was phenomenal. I read it in a day like I did the other two books in this series. Just when I don’t think this series can get better, it does. Eyes on Me was, of course, spicy af. But it also packed an emotional punch that I wasn’t quite expecting. It was a passionate book but also delved into serious issues.
The connection between Hunter, Isabel, and Drake was wild. Things weren’t always easy, and quite honestly, things got messy for a while. But at the end of the day, this throuple had all the passion, love, and connection I enjoy reading about. I loved reading about their dynamics and appreciated how realistic their conversations were.
You should check this book/series out.
4. Mercy
Rating: 4.25 ⭐️
Tropes:
- age gap
- best friend/ co-worker’s son
- domme/sub
- forbidden love
“Rule #8: Watch porn…for research.”
Mercy was an exciting read! One of my favorite parts of this series is how much I’ve learned about different k!nks. This book, in particular, was fascinating because I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where a woman was the dominant one. The dynamic between Beau and Maggie was great. They had an excellent connection and had tons of sweet moments. I loved the journey of self-discovery for both of them and how they learned not to be ashamed of what they enjoy.
This book is a little lower rated than the others because I wasn’t super invested in their relationship. The most significant reason is that I couldn’t overcome my dislike of Beau from an earlier book.
That said, this book is still great, and this series is one that you should check out.
5. Highest Bidder
Rating: 4 ⭐️
Tropes:
- age gap
- billionaire
- daddy k!nk
- mom’s ex
- pleasure dom
“Everyone has a limit. It’s getting them to find it that’s the fun part. Some Doms use pain. Degradation. Humiliation. I use pleasure.”
Highest Bidder is the most recent book in the Salacious Players series. Overall, I enjoyed it. Learning more about Ronan and pleasure doms generally was interesting. And I always love myself a billionaire hero. This book was also emotional but, of course, just as spicy as the others! I think it had the largest age gap of the series, which was interesting.
There was nothing wrong with this book, and it’s 100% a 5-star read for others. But something was missing for me that kept me from giving it five stars. I needed to see more of Daisy’s background to understand why she kept something a secret for so long.
That said, I enjoyed this book, and I love this series.
